So, last friday I got my first tattoo!

I’ve wanted this tattoo for at least a couple years now, and I FINALLY got it done. I couldn’t be happier, my tattoo artist is someone who has done a lot of work for many of my friends and he’s so skilled and talented.

My tattoo says the following: 

“The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18

This quote has stuck very closely with me ever since I first saw it. It really means a lot and I’ve carried it with me and it has helped me get through many things I’ve experienced in my life.

To me, the quote means that NO MATTER what it is you are going through in you’re life, you suffer, you sacrifice, you put in the effort, you experience the pain, you keep trying , never give up and never quit, no matter the situation, and it will all be worth it in the end. In the end it will all pay off, or things will end up working out, or things will get better. It may seem hard now, it may seem like the end of the world or you may be running out of energy, or time, or patience, but just believe that in the end, when its all said and done it will be worth it. I promise you, if you follow these words it will give you strength you never realized you could have. Its very powerful, and beautiful in my opinion and I hope it can help any of you the way it has helped me!

Speaking of the actual tattoo…. i.e the actual needle going into my skin… many people called me crazy for getting my first tattoo on my ribs cause it is supposed to be one of the most painful spots haha. Not guna lie, it was pretty painful. It started off fine, as he got closer to the middle it started to hurt a lot more, and then near the end it was tolerable. I didn’t move an inch though… my tattoo artist said i was a “statue” LOL! And that if all his clients were like me.. he wouldn’t have anything to complain about haha. So I’m pretty proud about that… and he also said If i wasn’t as good as I was, it would have easily taken him twice as long. So I’m happy I could tolerate it….. I already want to get my second one haha.

Okay SO, the Great Gatsby is fucking AMAZING.

And the soundtrack is incredible…. Lana Del Rey, Jay Z, Sia, The XX, Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, Beyonce, Andre 3000, Will.I.Am, to name a few.

You will absolutely get swept away by the film!!
